Welcome to the Emergency Department of the Beirut General Hospital.

Our aim is to satisfy every customer’s needs, either within the department, by admission and treatment as an inpatient or by appropriate referral to specialists whilst ensuring quality care and preserving the rights and dignity of patients. We endeavor to deal with everyone with a minimum of delay and to ensure that everyone receives the best management

We manage everything from children with measles to severe motor vehicle accidents.
There are 5 beds in the receiving area with one surgical bed and one bed dedicated to acute resuscitation. Radiological and CT scan assistance is immediate. 

   
 

At present a total of 2,500 patients are seen in the Department each year.
The unit is staffed 24hrs each day by resident medical officers with full specialist backup.

PATIENT INFORMATION

                      Please do not eat or drink before you have seen the doctor if you

                             1. Have been involved in an accident.
                             2. Think you may have a broken bone. 
                             3. Have abdominal pain.
                             4. May need an anesthetic.
